I've decided to make our fundraising process as transparent as possible. Typically, the market standard requires 100 calls to secure one investment. Since our launch in October 2021, we've made significant strides. I'll share some statistics about calls, email conversations, and personal discussions I've had since then. Here are my key observations:
- Many pre-seed VCs respond with "you are too early for us." This seems more like they're not ready to take early-stage risks or don't fully grasp what we're building.
- Some VCs underestimate the founder and place too much emphasis on the metrics.
- There's a significant difference between VCs and angel investors.
- Crowdfunding is more complicated and time-consuming than one might expect.
